It is no coincidence that most of the leading European cruises call on some of the best coastal destinations in the world, and Romania is no exception.

Romania has everything from the Carpathian Mountains to some of the most stunning beaches on the Black Sea coast, offering endless opportunities for outdoor adventure and exploration.
Apart from the breathtaking coastal scenery which makes a cruise to Romania all the more special, it is the warmth and hospitality of the locals and their generosity which makes visitors feel at home wherever they go.
Last but not the least, let’s not forget about the delightful culinary scene of Romania, with delicious dishes that reflect the country’s passion for homemade products. Try Sarmale followed by Papanasi for desert and trust us you won’t regret it.

Shore excursions can help you discover even more at this incredible destination, from culture infused land tours to adrenaline pumping outdoor thrills. Those looking for cruise deals to this region, there is a limited time offer of 75% off on 2nd guest, plus more on selected cruise lines.

Constanta city tour

When your cruise ship docks in Constanta, take a tour of the city located on the western edge of the Black Sea. Your private guide will tell you all about the classic legend of Jason and the Argonauts and where the bustling nightclubs of this picturesque city can be found.
Head first thing in the morning to the Genoese Lighthouse to enjoy great views of the city and later on spend time exploring the charming Old Town of Constanta. As you amble across the cobbled streets, you will find ample evidence of the presence of the Romans, from ancient dry walls to crumbling mosaics.
Do not forget to visit the History and Archaeological Museum for a fascinating insight on the treasures unearthed near the city and the large collection of Roman artefacts.

Bird watching and photography

This shore excursion takes off from Constanta on a 65-miles drive to the northern part of Dobrogea region, a well-known habitat for wintering birds from Siberia and Northern Europe. The tour then heads to the Vadu area which is home to a wide variety of waders. This wild virgin region is full of sand dunes, marshes and small water bodies right on the Black Sea coast. Another excellent place for photography and bird watching is Lake Techirghiol, a saltwater lake which shelters large flocks of Greater Flamingos.

Danube Delta tour

From the pier in Constanta, a drive of about ninety minutes will take you to Tulcea, the gateway to the iconic Danube Delta. After boarding a little motor boat, you will cruise through the channels and little canals as you wind your way to the delta.
The Danube Delta is a wildlife haven with over 3000 different species of birds and animals having been recorded here.
After sailing through the delta, enjoy a traditional lunch in a fishing village before returning to your cruise ship.
