The Apuseni Mountains: Waterfalls and Caves

Located in western Romania, the Apuseni Mountains are known for their caves, waterfalls and stunning karat formations. Area is perfect for those seeking to be in nature in solitude and untouched beauty. A famous attraction here is the Scarisoara Ice Cave, home to the largest underground glacier in Romania and Bear Cave, where remains of ancient bears were discovered. Best-known waterfalls in Apuseni are Bride's Veil Waterfall, Hand-Fan Waterfall and the Wonder Spring Waterfall.
